Good People
The worst thing a good person, realizing that being good is the logical thing to do if one wants to better the world, is to assume that the majority is good. It fails to register the people who neither want to be logical, nor want to better the world. It is an easy assumption if you only surround yourself with those you can relate to.

I wonder a lot about these things. And while I'm not 100% certain I have it correct just yet, I feel that I'm on to something.
I wonder if the majority of peoples' primal moral INSTINCT is to be good--but that they're immeshed in some type of materialistic delusion that prevents them from effectively acting on that good impulse.
I think you may be on the right track when you question the default 'goodness' of most of our actions. But again I suppose only a person who has thought deeply about the difference between superficial appearance and core reality can understand that.
Blogging is probably a very good exercise to develop the required perceptual faculties. Writing allows you, maybe even forces you, to more critically evaluate your thought process.
Sometimes I look back at what I've written with a tinge of regret, because I didn't quite 'get it' 100% back then. But of course, this revelation just gives me the juice to do better next time.
Have a good New Year.
